Using Army Surplus for Mountaineering

We all know how expensive things can get when you're trying to build up your clothing and equipment; readying yourself to enter the Mounaineering world. Slap a popular brand name on to a jacket or pair of boots and you'll soon see the RRP rise.

It doesn't have to be like that though. The MOD needs be sure that when they issue gear, it performs and remember, they don't just send soldiers out to the Middle East.

The MOD issue issue base layers, Gore-tex® (although it won't have a label on it), ski and winter mountaineering boots. You name and they'll have issued it, which means that it will eventually get to Army Surplus shops.

DAS Resilience


If you like getting out into the mountains then you are going to love DAS Resilience. On the last weekend of every month we publish a grid reference. That grid reference will be a remote and difficult to get to location. At that location you will find a prize cache full or army and outdoor product. The question you have to ask yourself is "Are you up for the challenge?"
